Varkala
Varkala is a seaside tourist resort and spa. A small town 55km north of Thiruvananthapuram, it is also an important religious place for the Hindus. The Papanasam Beach at Varkala is a quiet, secluded beach known for its white, silvery stretch of sand, mineral springs and rocky cliffs. Varkala is also an important Hindu centre of pilgrimage. The final resting place of Sree Narayana Guru, the great social reformer of Kerala, is near Varkala atop a hill named Sivagiri. High cliffs from mineral springs majestically rise is a scene typical of Varkala.
 
Madurai
Madurai is one of the oldest cities of India; with a history dating all the way back to the Sangam period of the pre Christian era. Madurai was the seat of the Tamil Sangam or Academy of learning. The entire city of Madurai, is built around the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple – the temple par excellence. Concentric rectangular streets surround the temple, symbolizing the structure of the cosmos. As early as the 3rd century BC, Megasthanes visited Madurai. Later many people from Rome and Greece visited Madurai and established trade with the Pandya kings. Madurai flourished till 10th century AD when it was captured by Cholas the arch rivals of the Pandyas Madurai is famous for its temples.
   
Kovalam
Kovalam is a beach paradise. With boundless blue of the Arabian Sea and unwinding miles of fine sand washed by surf which roars and hisses at the feet of coconut palms, Kovalam is a sheltered natural bay.
   
Cochin
The commercial capital of Kerala and the most cosmopolitan of the State’s cities, Cochin has long been marked in tourist literature as the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’. It has a fascinating blend of cultures. From time immemorial, traders and travelers frequented the place. One of the finest natural harbors in the world is located here. Chennai
Chennai (formerly known as Madras) is the capital of the state of Tamilnadu and is India’s fourth largest metropolitan city. With an estimated population of 6.98 million (2006), the 368-year-old city is the 34th largest metropolitan area in the world. Chennai is the third largest commercial and industrial centre in India, and is known for its cultural heritage and temple architecture. It is also a hub for south Indian classical music and dance performances. Chennai is considered the automobile capital of India and is referred to as the Detroit of South Asia. The 12-kilometre long Marina Beach forms the city’s east coast. Chennai is also one of the rare cities to accommodate a national park, the Guindy National Park, within its city limits.
   
Allepy
Alleppey, is hailed as the Venice of the East, because of its intricate maze of backwaters, canals and bridges. When the visitors take a boat voyage through Kuttanad, they will find themselves traveling along canals where the level of water is often higher than that of the green field on either side. Many beautiful sights greet you along the way, such as the Chinese Fishing Nets, said to have been introduced into Kerala by the traders from Kublai Khan’s Court.
   
Bakwater
Kerala’s backwaters are more of an emotion than a name. It has that unique quality of serenity, coupled with beauty. The boat trips are the best and most comprehensive introduction to the delights of Kerala’s backwaters as the journey passes through lakes, canals and water bound villages. The famous ‘Cheena Vala’ or Chinese Fishing Nets can also be seen while cruising through the backwaters. There is a different Kerala along the backwaters, throbbing with its own unique culture. It would be an incredibly different experience just floating on these waters and absorbing this unusual representation of Kerala’s life
   
Kumakom
Kumarakom is beautiful backwater spot. The place is so beautiful that Henry Baker, an Englishman, built his bungalow here in the last century. Now this elegant English bungalow is a Tourist Complex. Breathtakingly green, the village slumbers by the Vembanad Lake. The lake, an enchanting picnic spot and a fast developing backwater tourism destination, provides boating, fishing and sightseeing experience that are truly exhilarating.
   
Thekkady
Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world. The picturesque lake in the heart of the sanctuary was originally 26 sq km but now spans an area of 55 sq km. Periyar (also known as Thekkady) is a veritable paradise of elephants. Herds of playful wild elephants have made Periyar Lake their favorite haunt for frolicking in the water. Scores of them can be witnessed bathing and swimming here.Other inhabitants of Periyar include the leopard, wild dog, barking deer, mouse deer, Nilgiri langur,bonnet macaque, sambhar, porcupines, squirrels, gaur (Indian bison), wild boar and sloth bear.
   
Mararikulam
Mararikulam is a tiny fishing village confined with its virgin natural beauty and panaromic scenarios of the towering mountains and the cerulean blue sea. You as a tourist can explore the whole village observing the life style of fishing community of Kerala with its native traditions and customs. Munnar
Munnar is a beautiful and peaceful hill station with an altitude ranging from 1600 to 1800 meters above sea level. Munnar boasts of the highest peak in South India- Anamudi 2695 meter high. Munnar is covered with unending expanse of tea plantations. Munnar was the favorite summer resort of European settlers for centuries. Along with the flora of the land the Neelakkurinji (Strobilanthus) is a plant that blooms once in 12 years. At that time, the hill side will be bluish in colour.
   
Mahabalipuram
Globally renown for its shore temples, Mahabalipuram was the second capital of the Pallava kings of Kanchipuram. 58 kilometres from Madras on the Bay of Bengal, this tiny sea - side village of Mahabalipuram, is set in a boulder - strewn landscape. Tourists are drawn to this place by its miles of unspoiled beach and rock-cut art. The sculpture, here, is particularly interesting because it shows scenes of day-today life, in contrast with the rest of the state of Tamil Nadu, where the carvings generally depict gods and goddesses Mahabalipuram art can be divided into four categories: open air bas - relief, structured temples, man-made caves and rathas (‘chariots’) carved from single boulders, to resemble temples or chariots used in temple processions
