Njavarakizhi
In Njavarakizhi , the body is subjected to a treatment by a muslin bag(Kizhi). The body tends to sweat by the application of medical concoctions which are wrapped in a sort of bag like pouch. In this process the patient is asked to lie on a flat piece of board. Oil is applied all over his/her body and head. The bag or the muslin contains njavara rice that is soaked in a warm medicated ingredient with milk. The body is then massaged with these rice bags. Once the massage is over the rice paste sticking to the body is removed and warm oil is applied to complete the process. The patient is later given a warm shower. The Njavarakizhi is highly recommended for rheumatism, high blood pressure, cholesterol and certain skin diseases. It also effectively removes toxic substances by making the specific parts of the body sweat. |

Udwarthanam
In this treatment the herbs and sandalwood powder are mixed with the ayurvedic oils and gently massaged into the skin. This stimulates the energy flow and the nourishment of body tissues. It also helps in the skins natural metabolism and the improvement of the lymph flow. Its gives the skin a glow and texture and refines it. |

Shirodhara
The sirodhara is one of the famous forms of Ayurveda treatment experience that involves the use of ancient medicated oil which is poured over the forehead through a specially designed apparatus in a ritual that results in the rejuvenation and revitalization of the body .It is also highly effective in reducing the ageing process. Sirovasthi
The Sirovasti treatment of Ayurveda involves the use of aurvedic oil .In this process the head is first wrapped with a cap made of leather which is topless and it tightened from all sides. The treatment normally takes place during the evening when the sun sets during a period of 7 days. The medicated oil is warmed and poured in to the cap at a height of 3cm above the scalp. This is kept usually for 45 minutes. After the process the whole body is subjected to a massage thereby giving a whole new refreshing experience. |

Pizhichil
Pizhichil also known as a “King’s Treatment” as it was performed assuring the ancient times for the Maharajas. It is one such treatment that combines the use of heat and rich oil massage. For the process about 20litres of medicated and warmed Ayurveda oil is constantly poured over the body. The body is simultaneously massaged and the skin stimulated using the feet and special cotton towels. During this process, the person is either lying down or sitting in a chair that is exclusively made of the process. The treatment helps in the retuning of the nervous system and is also a highly rejuvenating therapy. |
